You can then carry out some more detailed research once you have your short list drawn up.

It is always important to have as many potential options as possible, as there is no guarantee that your first choice of university will accept you. You can greatly increase your chances by finding out how your chosen university chooses which applications to accept, and tailoring your own submission to these requirements. Few universities now use the crude method of purely judging people on past test results, as that is no accurate reflection of a student's ability to produce a thesis or to submit high quality course work.

Find out exactly what your chosen clinical psychology graduate school demands from potential students, and satisfy these demands to the best of your ability. In most cases, you will need to submit a written statement as to why you want to study psychology in the first place, and then exactly what your eventual career plans are.
